Today I went to Ottawa and picked up my Chinese Visa. I was so excited to pick it up! Oh My God it is really happening. I know that I probably keep saying that but as the days dwindle to my departure I just can’t believe that I have actually gone through with this. I am so excited to go and it’s going ahead full steam now!

Oh my goodness time is certainly drawing close. As I am sure most of you will be reading this after I have left because well as of this date I have yet to tell anyone about my blog. Still no luck with the car but hopefully someone will bite soon. I don’t think I will ever sell a car again, too much work. I didn’t like retail in a store and I like “personal” retail even less. I’m just going to lease a car and give it back for a better one in a few years or just drive it into the ground and buy a new one.

On the bright side I leave for China in only a few more days. September 3rd is the day. I just simply can’t believe that it is actually happening. (more…)

Hello world, (I love making that joke…cause I’m a nerd)

Seriously though what an incredible week it has been. As I’m sure you’ve noticed (unless you’re reading this later and it’s just the next post) that I haven’t posted in 5 days. I got back to Montreal from my brothers house on Monday so that trip occupied most of that day. That went pretty well but I will save you the long drawn out version, I found out 3 days after that she was not going to take it. I can’t say I am thrilled that I still have the car but I did get another email yesterday from a lady WHO DOESN’T KNOW WHEN TO NOT USE CAPS that she wanted to see the car this coming weekend and I have made arrangements for her and her son to see it on Sunday so hopefully she takes it! I could use the cash injection.

Anyway on to the warm welcomes and cold offers part of it, the far more exciting aspect of today’s post. I posted my resume on Dave’s ESL Cafe, (more…)

*sigh* Where do I begin today?

Well yesterday a very nice guy came over to look at my car, which as you know I am trying to sell, and he seemed to be genuinely interested in it. I was thrilled and I was pretty sure that he was going to take it. He said he would call me today and let me know because he wanted to run it by his friend who, “knows stuff about cars.” That should have been my first warning sign. Anyway he did contact me this morning and his friend convinced him that while my car is “a good deal” that he should lowball my price by $1,000! Seriously dude? All similarly year’d (is that a word? If it’s not I’m going to use it anyway) cars are going for the same price (actually even more) than what I am asking for and mine is in fantastic condition. Anyway as I’ve previously said I am very (more…)

Baby steps

Since I will be leaving in, hopefully, September to go on my TESOL adventure there any many things that I need to complete: actually get a job (obviously), sell my car, get my shots (assuming I need some /shrug) and maybe even other things that I can’t think of at this very moment.

This past week I have been at my brother Jordan’s house in Cambridge trying to sell my car on Kijiji and Craigslist. Yesterday (August 9th) I had my first visitor (more…)
